Good news, bad news

Mixed news from my most recent visit to the Rheumatologist. He is taking me off Methotrexate, as I’m not showing enough of an improvement.

This is good news because I was nervous about putting a drug that toxic into my body. This is bad news because that’s one less drug in my treatment options. And Lupus doesn’t come with a lot of treatment options.

  1. I have been in your shoes! I was on methotrexate for several months and the doc took me off of it when the side effects were outweighing the benefits. I do not miss it! Good luck finding the right therapy for you.

    • Hi Diva, it’s great to know that I’m not alone in being relieved at not taking Methotrexate anymore… 🙂 Currently I’m now only taking Plaquenil, which I’m thankful has helped with a couple of my more specific symptoms, but hasn’t helped much with the fatigue and constant ache / malaise. I don’t see my Rheumatologist for another 3 months now, so I’ll see what other things he has in his bag of potions and notions then.
